It is good and marvellous that every grateful hearts return to God with Thanksgiving for His faithfulness, mercy, favour and above all, for life.
It is on this note that Chief Dr Chidia Maduekwe and his entire family returned glory to God for making them witness 2-1-22, a significant code for resuscitation of Abia State and a day to recognize the saving power of God through all life and death challenges that today, he may stand before God to witness a new year.
Delivering sermon in the service on the importance of walking confidently in Thanksgiving before God, the Minister, Rev. Jimaima Olanma Kalu encouraged every Christian to live a life of Thanksgiving like David, Solomon, the healed leprosy and many recorded instances of people that returned thanks to God for good upon their lives as that is the only oil to lubricate our divine blessings.
She thanked God for the family of Dr Chidia for remembering to thank God and encouraged other families to emulate the character of Thanksgiving at all times, explaining that Thanksgiving can be expressed by blessing the people around you with your suplous.
One of the highlights of the service was the announcement of a foundation in the name of the late father of Chidia Maduekwe who was a didicated Reverend Gentleman in the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria.
He said that the main objective, above every other focus is to careter for families of late ministers of the Church and beyond.
Dr Chidia announced that the pioneering beneficiaries of the foundation will be scholarship to the children of Late Rev. Omerekpe and Pst Precious Azu who are to enjoy sponsorship to the University level. He said that some of the BoTs shall include His Eminence, Rev. Nzie Nsi Eke, Prelate and Moderator of The Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, Ezie Ogo Asaga, Ezema Atita and selected grandchildren of Late Rev. U. U. Maduekwe.
Among other dignitaries during the worship include Eze Elder Dr. summy O. Ukweni, Ezema Atita of Asaga who thanked God and welcomed the good thing that Dr Chidia has done by bringing the Southeast Headquarters of Nigeria Film Corporation to Asaga, his home town.
Also in the service were Barr Etigwe Uwa, SAN and his wife. Director of Communications, Nigeria Film Corporation, Dr Etto who returned all praises to God.
The Maduekwe family were later prayed for as they donated more in cash as well as took care of annual salaries of missionaries as part of support from Rev. U. U. Maduekwe Foundation.
