The Nigerian Army early hours of Monday allegedly invaded Isingwu hamlet in Imama village, Mgbowo community in Awgu Local Government Area of Enugu State shooting sporadically.
The military personnel torched a house said to belong to a suspected leader of the Eastern Security Network (ESN), the security arm of pro-Biafra group, Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
A trending video in the social media circulated Monday showing the military personnel shooting directly into residential buildings in the village. (Watch Video Below)
An anonymous eye witness told New Telegraph in a telephone conversation that the military personnel arrived around 5.30 to 6am and moved straight to the home of the suspected ESN leader, popularly called ‘Chocho’ and opened fire on the house and touching the house as well.
The army personnel also shot into surrounding buildings before leaving the place.
The source, stated that security operatives recently arrested an indigene of the community from the same Imama village, (name not disclosed), who was publicly shooting into the air three days earlier during the burial of Prof. Ndubuisi, the assassinated Director General of Scientific Equipment Development Institute (SEDI), Enugu.
The arrested person was reported to be shouting that he was a member of ESN, while he was shooting into the air.
