One of the foremost pressure groups with the mandate of ensuring the smooth and equitable transition of power in Abia State come 2023, Uwaoma Abia has called on Abia Citizens, especially, the Abia North Senatorial Zone, to take advantage of the ongoing voters’ registration exercise that is provisioned by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to arm themselves against the future.
In a statement signed by its Director-General, Mr. Kalu O. Kalu, K.O.K, and forwarded to OHAFIA-TV News on Saturday, the pressure group emphasized the imperativeness of taking the responsibility of being registered to vote as it is the only tool available to the masses to speak their minds concerning the government through the polls.
“This is another opportunity to curb the cry of disenfranchisement as we have heard in the past, this is the time that every citizen that is 18 years and above should take the initiative of performing their civic duties as it is only through voting that your voice can be heard.
“There’s need to participate in the ongoing Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise is sacrosanct at this material time” he advised.
He reminded Abians of the importance of the exercise and charged eligible voters who have not registered to seize the opportunity by getting captured on INEC’s database, consequent upon which they will obtain their Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC).
The DG, Uwaoma Abia, went further and insisted that the call to produce a God-fearing and people-friendly governor cannot be overemphasized at this point in our history as a people, maintaining that the only way to achieve this lofty task is to be armed with PVC.
