Abia State Deputy Governor, Engr Ikechukwu Emetu, FNSE, has charged Students of Ohafia origin to prioritize their education and steer clear of cultism and other social vices. Engr Emetu made this call when the National Association of Ohafia Students (NAOS) Worldwide paid a courtesy visit to his Office at the Government House in Umuahia, the State capital.
The Deputy Governor emphasized the importance of education, encouraging the Students to stay focused on their academic goals. He promised to look into some of the Students’ demands, including providing bursaries for Ohafia Students and a bus for the Association.


“I urge you to shun cultism and other social vices that can derail your academic pursuits,” Engr Emetu advised. “Education is key to your success, and I’m committed to supporting you in any way I can.”
Also speaking during the visit, the Director of Administration in the Office of the Deputy Governor, Mr. Ezinna Felix Ukwa, encouraged the Students’ to make the most of the opportunity of having a son of Ohafia as Deputy Governor, pointing out the Deputy Governor’s unique commitment to supporting youths in all their endeavors.

In his address, the NAOS President General, Comr Uma Ukpai Kalu, thanked the Deputy Governor for his support and guidance, highlighting his commitment to quality education in Abia State. The Students’ pledged their support to the Deputy Governor and the Dr. Alex Otti-led government, expressing their willingness to back programs and policies that will bring progress to the state.
The courtesy visit was attended by government appointees, including the Chief Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor, Sir Chukwudi Eke Mba.
