Yesterday, the Abia State Government honoured one of Nigeria’s most iconic television personalities, Chief Chika Chukwunonso Okpala, popularly known as Zebrudaya alias 4:30, with a grand celebration on his 75th birthday.
For many of us, Zebrudaya was a cherished part of our childhood — a comic genius whose presence on screen brought joy to millions. Seeing him celebrated this way brings a deep sense of pride and nostalgia.

Chief Okpala is not just a Nollywood legend, but someone who has made immense contributions to Nigeria’s entertainment history.
The decision of the Abia State Government under Governor Alex Otti to recognize and honour our icons speaks volumes about its commitment to celebrating excellence and preserving our heritage.
This thoughtful gesture deserves every commendation. Abia is truly on the path of rediscovering and honouring its heroes.
It is important to note that the much celebrated Nollywood today has its roots tracable to Aba in Abia State and that the Abia State Government is working hard through the Commissioner for Arts, Culture, and Creative Economy Honorable Doc Matt Ekwuribe to restore the state back as center of movie industry in Nigeria.
