Senator Ali Ndume, who represents Borno South, has stated that he does not support President Bola Tinubu’s bid for a second term.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics programme on Sunday, Ndume made this claim.

Tinubu was unanimously chosen by 22 governors who were elected last month on the APC’s platform to run for office in 2027.
Following the governors’ endorsement of the president for reelection, Ndume allegedly stormed out of the Presidential Villa’s Banquet Hall in Abuja.
“I wasn’t there for that reason, but I was there nonetheless.
“I came there for a summit, but when I learnt it wasn’t one and that there was a voice vote on Mr President’s endorsement, I simply left. That doesn’t mean I’m not an APC member, though.
“A few of us felt that was wrong, but the majority had their way,” Ndume stated.
“It happened before, not once, not twice,” he continued. It took place when Jonathan was president. That is meaningless.
Politicians are leaving, but voters themselves are staying put.
He said, “At the time, Jonathan had 22 governors who supported him, just as they do now. And what took place? Jonathan had a terrible defeat. It cost a lot of money. We are not learning our lessons, even though the election was moved. I’m sorry, Mr President.”
