Chief Dr. Emeka Kalu, Director General of Global Initiatives For Good Governance (GIGG), has strongly condemned the recent attacks on Mangu and Bokkos communities in Plateau State, Nigeria, that have resulted in the loss of over 60 lives.
He described the attacks, attributed to Fulani cattle rustlers, as a “senseless massacre” and called for urgent national security reforms to address the situation.

According to Chief Dr. Kalu, the Federal Ministry of Livestock Development, established to regulate the activities of cattle rearers in Nigeria, has not done enough to address the issue.
The attacks are not limited to Plateau State, as similar incidents have been reported in Enugu, Edo, and Ondo States, where people live in fear of attacks by suspected Fulani cattle grazers.
Chief Dr. Kalu called on the federal government, under the leadership of Senator Ahmed Bola Tinubu, to strengthen national security structures to tackle the situation.
“Nigerians are tired of violence, insecurity, electoral fraud, judicial compromise, and political Machiavellianism that have continued to erode democratic values and the rule of law,” he said, urging the government to prioritize the protection of citizens’ lives and improvement of the economy.
