A horrific car crash in Ondo State’s Odigbo Local Council Area has claimed the lives of 30 passengers, leaving a trail of devastation and grief in its wake.
The accident occurred on Saturday when two commercial buses collided head-on and erupted into flames on the Ore/Lagos Expressway

Eyewitnesses report that the inferno was so intense that 28 passengers were burnt beyond recognition. Two survivors who were rescued with severe injuries succumbed to their wounds before reaching the hospital. Only two passengers are currently receiving medical treatment.
Preliminary investigations suggest that reckless driving, including speeding and driving against traffic, contributed to the tragic accident. Ibitoye emphasized that road safety is a shared responsibility, encouraging passengers to speak out against unsafe driving practices. The FRSC commander also stressed the importance of proper vehicle maintenance to prevent such tragedies.
The devastating car crash has sent shockwaves through the community, highlighting the need for increased vigilance and responsibility on Nigeria’s roads.
