Bauchi State Governor, Sen Bala Mohammed, has called on Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, to resign from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) due to alleged anti-party activities.
Mohammed accused Wike of serving the interests of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and advised him to join the party officially.
The governor’s statement came after Wike’s media aide, Lere Olayinka, criticized Mohammed’s leadership as chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum. Olayinka accused Mohammed of being a greedy politician who lacks the capacity to provide leadership.
Mohammed responded by describing Wike’s attack as reckless, deceptive, and reflective of declining political relevance. He accused Wike of betraying several politicians, including Senator John Azuta Mbata, Dr. Peter Odili, and Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi.
The governor emphasized that the PDP is united and resolute, despite Wike’s attempts to weaken it. He urged Wike to reflect on his conduct and resign from the party, stating that his words will remain hollow until he aligns fully with the APC.
