Former Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, has taken a swipe at defectors from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), saying they are like individuals who eat food meant for the spirits.
Ikpeazu made this statement during a meeting with the Abia PDP State Working Committee in Obingwa, where he emphasized the need for self-reflection and reconciliation within the party.

According to Ikpeazu, some individuals who defected from the party did so because they knew they had “killed” the party, and their anger stems from the fact that if the party survives, they will face consequences. He described these individuals as unable to endure hardship, saying they would even eat food meant for the spirits and then claim that nothing is happening in their new endeavors.
Ikpeazu also emphasized the importance of working together to achieve the party’s goals, saying that their strategy is based on Gideon’s approach, which prioritizes quality over quantity. He urged party members to work hard, stating that salvation will not come easily, and that they must be willing to put in the effort to achieve success.
The former governor’s comments come as the PDP seeks to rebuild and strengthen its presence in Abia State. Ikpeazu’s remarks highlight the need for party members to come together, reconcile their differences, and work towards a common goal.
