The Anambra State Government has taken a bold step to ensure citizens’ safety by demolishing a hotel used as a hideout by kidnappers.
The hotel, Udoka Golden Point Hotel and Suites, also known as “La Cruise Hotel,” was located along the Onitsha-Owerri Road in Oba, Idemili South Local Government Area.

This move is part of Operation Udo Ga Achị, an initiative launched by Governor Chukwuma Soludo to tackle insecurity in the state. The operation, backed by the Agụnaehemba security network, aims to flush out criminal elements and restore peace to communities across Anambra.
The government has made it clear that it will not tolerate any establishment that serves as a safe haven for criminals. According to a government spokesperson, “This is about protecting the lives and livelihoods of Ndi Anambra. We will continue to act decisively to ensure peace and security in our state”.
This development comes after a similar incident in Enugu State, where the government demolished a building used as a kidnappers’ den, warning property owners to be vigilant about their properties’ use.
