Following a recent shake up in the South East Development Commission, SEDC by the President and Commander in Chief of Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, a chieftain of All Progressives Congress, APC in Abia State, Mazi Chibuike Jonas, has extended heartfelt appreciation to the president who has walked his talk in his converted efforts to restore confidence of the Southeastern part of Nigeria through people oriented policies targeted at true reintegration and sense of national Unity.
Mazi Jonas admits that this is the first major step towards healing in the South East since the civil war and reiterates the resolve of the region to support the administration of President Tinubu as he continues to work hard to return Nigeria to the path of unity and economic progress.
“Mr President has continued to show his commitment towards a better and prosperous Nigeria, and we are grateful that he is carrying Southeast along this progress path.
“For ensuring the passage of SEDC Bill into law and following it up is a prove of his goodwill towards the South East people and I am certain that the best repayment we can give to him is our total support and calm patient to allow President Tinubu unleash all his goodies for all Nigerians, especially, the Southeast Zone”, he said.
Mazi Jonas also thanked the Deputy Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, for spearheading the bill until it saw the light of day under his watch.
“We are proud to have pragmatic leader like Rt. Hon. Ben Kalu as our representative and we commend him for the bridge he has built along national politics for which the Southeast has seen a new light of development opportunities since after the Nigerian Civil War. His love for his people and peace in the region is a testament of his goodwill for all Nigerians and unalloyed loyalty to the success of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR” he assures.
