The Police Service Commission has taken decisive action against senior officers found guilty of misconduct. In a statement released on Friday in Abuja, the Commission announced the dismissal of 18 senior officers and the demotion of 19 others.
The sanctioned officers include 10 Assistant Superintendents, six Deputy Superintendents, two Chief Superintendents, and one Superintendent.
Additionally, 19 other senior officers will face reduction in ranks, comprising one Assistant Commissioner of Police, one Chief Superintendent, two Superintendents, two Deputy Superintendents, and 13 Assistant Superintendents.
The Commission’s decision came after a thorough review of 109 outstanding disciplinary issues, 23 appeals and petitions, and 13 court rulings.
This move demonstrates the Commission’s commitment to upholding discipline and accountability within the police force.
