A devastating wave of violence swept through Nibo, a community in Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State, on Sunday, leaving at least 16 people dead. The victims, mostly youths, allegedly fell prey to a deadly cult clash.
Eyewitness accounts and disturbing footage circulating online reveal the gruesome aftermath of the attack. Local residents took to social media to warn others of the danger.
“Please avoid Nibo today. Many feared dead already. Cult clash… Our youths are dying in numbers,” wrote one Facebook user.
Another resident, Ifeyinwa Okeke, described the chaotic scene at Amaku Teaching Hospital, Awka: “Our emergency ward is filled with victims from Nibo. It was terrible.
