In a significant show of support, a coalition of Umunneochi youth leaders has unanimously backed Hon. Sopuruchukwu Igwe for the Labour Party’s chairmanship ticket in the upcoming Local Government Area (LGA) election in Abia State.

This endorsement was conveyed in a letter dated September 27, 2024, addressed to Governor Dr. Alex C. Otti OFR.

Key Reasons for Endorsement

Youth leaders from Umunneochi LGA cited Hon. Igwe’s humane disposition and capacity to replicate the vision and developmental strides of Governor Otti in the LGA. They believe his leadership will bring about positive change and progress.

Call for Equity and Fairness

The youth leaders emphasized that Hon. Igwe’s candidacy is justified based on equity and fairness within the party and LGA. They urged the Labour Party to recognize his potential and allow him to fly the party’s flag in the forthcoming election.

The letter was also copied to Hon. Mathias Umeh, Member representing Umunneochi State Constituency at the House of Assembly, and other key stakeholders in the LGA, demonstrating the widespread support for Hon. Igwe’s candidacy.
