Senator Monday Okpebholo of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is poised for victory, winning 11 out of 17 announced Local Government Areas.

APC leads with 275,329 votes, followed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with 220,892, and the Labour Party with 18,737.

However, PDP agents have disputed the results, alleging tampering, which APC denies.

The Returning Officer urges calm as the final results are awaited.
