It is with profound sadness that I join the nation in mourning the loss of a true statesman, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, who passed away on [date]. As the President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Iwuanyanwu left an indelible mark on Nigeria’s political and journalistic landscape.
A trailblazer in every sense, Chief Iwuanyanwu’s remarkable career spanned multiple fields. He was a distinguished journalist, a successful newspaper administrator, and a seasoned politician who contested for the presidency in the First Republic under the National Republican Convention (NRC). As a founding member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), he played a pivotal role in shaping the party’s fortunes, contributing significantly to its electoral successes at both national and state levels.
Chief Iwuanyanwu’s leadership was characterized by unwavering commitment, vision, and a passion for unity. As Chairman of the PDP’s Board of Trustees, he worked tirelessly to strengthen the party, even in the face of adversity. His leadership extended beyond politics to the Ohanaeze Ndigbo socio-ethnic and cultural group, where he championed peaceful coexistence and harmony among Nigerians.
The void left by Chief Iwuanyanwu’s passing is immense, but his legacy will continue to inspire future generations. We remember his remarkable life, his achievements, and his contributions to our nation’s growth.
Rest in Peace, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu.
