The constituents of Arochukwu/Ohafia federal constituency have been crying out over the humiliation they face from law enforcement officers along the Bende-Ohafia road. The Nigerian Army at the checkpoint have been forcing travelers to alight from their vehicles and walk across the area, even in the rain.
In response to this, Hon. Osonwa, the member representing Arochukwu/Ohafia federal constituency, called the Commander of 14BDG Ohafia on Saturday, July 13th, to demand an end to this unwarranted humiliation. He emphasized that such treatment is a violation of human rights and the constitution.
The lawmaker appealed to his constituents who have been affected by this treatment to remain calm and peaceful, assuring them that he is working to ensure that such actions cease. He thanked his constituents for their trust in him and promised to continue listening to their concerns.
