Ambassador Aliyu Bin Abbas, the National Chairman and Youth President of the National Youth Alliance, has declared the organization’s commitment to reinstating Nigeria’s esteemed position within the international community. This pledge comes on the heels of President Bola Tinubu’s recent embarrassing incident in South Africa, which has sparked widespread concern about the country’s global reputation.
In a statement made available by Hon. Jacob Dickson, Special Adviser to Ambassador Abbas on Media and Publicity, the NYA Leader expressed the organisation’s resolve to revitalize Nigeria’s pride and restore its honor among nations when elected. He emphasized that the organization remains steadfast in its dedication to promoting the nation’s interests and upholding its values on the global stage.
The NYA’s vow comes at a time when Nigeria is facing numerous challenges, including human rights violations, insecurity, and economic struggles leading to mass emigration of its young population. President Tinubu’s administration has been criticized for its mishandling of these issues, with Amnesty International urging the government to prioritize human rights and accountability.
The incident in South Africa, where President Tinubu faced an embarrassing situation, has further highlighted the need for Nigeria to reassert its global influence and reputation.
The statement further read that many Nigerians are eager to see their country reclaim its position as a respected member of the Pan-African and international community, and the NYA shall work towards achieving this objective.
