Robert Onyejekwe, a Nigerian businessman residing in the United States, has passed away.

On Sunday, June 9, 2024, in the evening, the oil and gas tycoon, who was travelling to Nigeria from his base in Sugar Land, Houston, Texas, was discovered dead in his hotel room in Ikoyi, Lagos.

The Street Journal alleged that Onyejekwe was in town for some business meetings and that he briefly rested in his hotel room during the sessions before mysteriously passing away.

According to sources, he was in Nigeria for meetings about an oil and gas company he had bought about four years prior. He had made plans to return to Nigeria soon, allegedly to fully take over the company’s operations personally, after he had found out about some dubious activities being carried out by those he had placed in charge of it.

Robert Onyejekwe was just 51 years old.

It is said that his wife and a family friend are travelling to Lagos in order to bring his body back to Houston for burial.

In Houston, Texas, he had his yearly Over The Counter (OTC) party right before taking off for Nigeria.
