The Okpo Ihechiowa Development Union today, 14th June 2024, passed a vote of confidence on Honourable Ibe Okwara Osonwa over his dogged representation of their people in the National Assembly.

The organization, which was led by the President-General, Ihechiowa Development Union, Igwe Barr. Chukwudi Nweke drummed their satisfaction and presented their demands over the erosion menace currently ravaging their community, bad road network, and other community challenges they face.

The community also debunked through Chief Ogbonnaya Okonkwo, the misinformation passed about them in the National Assembly by the Honourable Akiba Bassey Ekpenyong over the boundary dispute between Isu community and the people of Odukpani/Biase community of Cross River State and pleaded that the misinformation sponsored by that motion about their community to be withdrawn.

Honourable Ibe, receiving the Ihechiowa leaders, expressed his gratitude over their visit, explaining that he had already debunked the said misinformation. He analyzed his plans to restore permanent solution over the long boundary dispute and provision of relief materials to the affected persons.

He also highlighted the process so far in all the projects awarded and the ones approved and/or undergoing procurement, including the Ecological Project affecting the people of Okpo and other communities in his Constituency, pointing out that Okpo Ihechiowa is always a priority in his representation.

Chief Ifeanyichukwu Omenka gave a vote of thanks on behalf of the community seconded by Mr. Ikechukwu Kalu, who confirmed the day the Ecological Fund Engineers came to their community for feasibility studies, thanking Honourable Ibe Okwara Osonwa for his so far active representation within the little period he has been in office.
