Canada’s Premier, Tim Houston, has commended Olugu Ukpai for his advocacy work on malaria. Just two weeks after the Red Chamber of Canada praised Dr. Ukpai’s efforts, the Premier of Nova Scotia, Tim Houston, also acknowledged and appreciated his work to end malaria globally.
During a lobster dinner on May 16th, 2024, organized by Barbra Adams, the Minister of Justice, Attorney General of the Province, and also the Minister of Senior Long-term Care and Military Relations, Premier Tim Houston expressed his gratitude towards Dr. Olugu Ukpai, saying, “I appreciate the work you are doing to end malaria around the world. I join you to drum up support for such an important cause.”
Premier Tim Houston, who is a chartered accountant by profession, is the 30th Premier of Nova Scotia. His commitment to citizens’ healthcare is commendable, and he is actively working to attract doctors to live and work in Nova Scotia.
Nova Scotia has an estimated population of 940,600, up from 921,700 in 2011, making it the second most densely populated province in the country. The capital of Nova Scotia is now the Halifax Regional Municipality since the 1990s.
