A suspected kidnapper was slain in Okuno, Orogun community in Ughelli North Local Government Area by police in Abraka Division, Ethiope-East Local Government Area, Delta State, under the command of SP Fabian Ayameh, in cooperation with the Abraka vigilante and hunters group. However, other gang members managed to flee the site of the murder.
Additionally, the authorities returned two abduction victims—names withheld—to their families after saving them. Information surfaced that the suspect was shot and seriously injured during a shootout with other members of his criminal group. He was taken to a hospital and later passed away there, according to OHAFIATV News.

Eleven rounds of 7.62mm ammo and an AK-47 rifle were also found by the police from the suspect at the crime scene. The report was verified by SP Bright Edafe, the public relations officer for Delta State Police, in a statement.
He declared, “At approximately 09:00 on April 26, 2024, the command was notified by information that a few suspected kidnappers were hibernating in Okuno, Orogun, where they were concealing themselves with a few abducted victims.
DPO Abraka Division SP Fabian Ayameh has been instructed by Delta State Police Commissioner CP Abaniwonda Olufemi to escort police operatives to their hiding place.
The DPO quickly mobilised, assaulted the bush, and engaged the alleged kidnappers in a fierce gunfight in which one of the suspects suffered significant bullet wounds while others managed to flee, according to SP Edafe. “Manhunts are underway for the other fleeing suspects,” he declared.
