Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) candidate for president in the general election of 2023, has given an explanation for why, while serving as governor of Anambra state, he did not build a single new school.
According to The Nation, Reno Omokri, a social media personality, questioned Obi’s leadership and challenged the former governor of Anambra state and his supporters to name one school that Obi established during his eight years in office.
Reno offered a ten thousand dollar reward to anyone who could locate a school constructed by Obi.
At a news conference on Wednesday, April 24, in Abuja, Obi responded by saying that those who had made such accusations hadn’t benefited from his manifesto.
After closing schools and announcing a dysfunctional educational system, he claimed that Anambra state had gone to the top of the rankings when he came, from 26th place in the country.
“I enhanced people’s quality of life, mental and physical health, schools, and access to necessities, and the people shone like stars,” he declared.
“That was my manifesto.” “Building coastal lines when internal roads are impassable is similar to building new schools when the old ones are moribund.”
