ABUJA: “Africa has the youngest population in the world, with 70% of sub-Saharan Africa under the age of 30. Such a high number of young people is an opportunity for the continent’s growth – but only if these new generations are fully empowered to realise their best potential. It is especially important that young people are included in decision making and given appropriate opportunities for work and to innovate.
“Involving young people in politics and society is not merely a question of inclusion, but one that is vital for economic growth, innovation, peace and security. We are determined to promoting and protecting the values and interest of our young people”.
These were the very words of the Youth President, Ambassador Aliyu Bin Abbas, the Convener of National Youth Alliance, as he touched down in Darkar the capital city of Senegal in his continued and relentless drive to awaken the Nigerian youths to be alive to their responsibilities and the challenges ahead of them, which is the ultimate price they must pay to retake their pride of place in their fatherland.
OHAFIATV News recalls that the pragmatic energetic peace ambassador has at different fora challenged the Nigeria youths to be responsible to their destiny and alive to the truth that dividing themselves along tribal, ethnic, religious and creed fault lines is the only albatross that will continue to weigh against them in forging a common front to retake and salvage Nigeria because they do not have any other place to call home.
While in Senegal, he is expected to interact with the most recently elected and youngest president in Africa, President Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar Faye, commonly known mononymously as Diomaye. He will also have high interactive sessions with other youth bodies and leaders to forge synergy and stronger tie as Nigeria and Senegal have remains role models to many West Africa Countries and many other Africa regions.
