Veteran Kannywood actress Saratu Gidado, affectionately known as Daso, has passed away.
According to reports from a local radio station in Kano State, the celebrated actress died peacefully in her sleep.
Her family members shared that Dado did not wake on Tuesday morning after partaking in the pre-dawn meal before the commencement of the day’s Ramadan fast, Sahur.
Daso, who had been an integral part of the Hausa film industry for over 18 years, captivated audiences with her exceptional performances and diverse roles.
Before her illustrious acting career, Saratu dedicated herself to teaching in schools.
News of her demise has left fans and colleagues in mourning, grieving the loss of a beloved talent.
As preparations for her funeral, scheduled for 4:00 pm, were underway, tributes continued to pour in from various corners of the entertainment world
