Cross River State Governor Bassey Otu has asked Olumba Olumba Obu, the spiritual head of the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star, to offer prayers for the state’s release from “occultic and satanic” forces that would have prevented it from moving forward.
On Sunday, Otu gave a message of kindness at the UJ Esuene Stadium in Calabar.
The Brotherhood of the Cross and Star had organised a programme titled “Divine Assurance of Christhood” to commemorate Easter.
Otu stated ,through the Commissioner for Local Government Affairs, Chief Victor Felix Idem. “We are especially pleased that His Holiness Olumba Olumba is a revered and respected spiritual leader that has drawn global traffic of worshippers to the state,.
“Religious tourism and your contributions have made the state government very happy.” We humbly ask that you pray for the state to be freed from any occult or demonic powers that could be influencing it.
Speaking at the event were other dignitaries who urged the spiritual leader to pray for the nation and state. Olumba Obu was praised for being the top private employer of labour in the state. The Brotherhood of the Cross and Star has used its distinctive teachings to influence thousands of Nigerians and people from other nations, according to Senator B.W. Deg, a former deputy governor-elect in Bayelsa State who also spoke at the occasion.
The religious organization’s secretary general, Degi, said that the nation will see progress as a result of the Divine Assurance event. Olumba Obu said that God has interceded in human history while addressing the throngs of devoted guests at the ceremony.
He urged all countries to follow the teachings of forgiveness and peace, stating that the celebration’s goal was to promote everyone who upholds the Christ’s beliefs to the status of a Christ.
