Troops of Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) have conducted a successful operation resulting in the arrest of 271 suspects across Plateau, Bauchi, and Kaduna States. The deputy commander of OPSH, DCP Terzungwe Iyela, reported the significant achievements made by the task force.
During the operation, which focused on maintaining peace and security in the region, 79 kidnap victims were rescued from the clutches of criminals. Additionally, a total of 1,161 ammunition were seized from the suspects, along with the recovery of 554 cattle from rustlers.
The suspects were apprehended for various offenses including kidnapping, armed robbery, banditry, gun running, farm destruction, vandalism, and other related crimes. Troops also neutralized 13 armed criminals, further enhancing the safety of the affected communities.
In a proactive measure, OPSH dismantled two arms fabrication factories, preventing the proliferation of illegal weapons in the area. Furthermore, 33 suspects have been charged to court, signaling the commitment of OPSH to ensuring justice is served.
