Chief Promise Uzoma Okoro, PUO, and Comrade Clinton Ubah have been given the green light by the electoral committee to vie for the position of association chairman in the general elections of 2024 Abia Online Media Publishers.

The chairman of the election committee, Comrade Ugochuwku Nwankwo, addressed the two candidates running for chairmanship urging them to prioritise the good of the association and its unity in all that they do if elected.

He also used the opportunity to caution them against engaging in clannish campaigns, advising them to instead deliver their manifestos to association members, steer clear of pointless altercations, and go into the elections with a spirit of sportsmanship.

“You’ve observed our current situation and the necessity for our organization to advance. The electoral committee will not support any kind of ethnic campaign or agenda, thus whoever wins the position of chairman of this association should prioritize the association’s unity above all else. Campaigns will shortly begin. It is unacceptable to say, “I’m from here or there,” and those who do so will suffer the consequences. He stated.

In their pursuit of the members’ complete support, he urged them to act as excellent representatives of the association.

While the screening of other candidates continues tomorrow, Friday, around noon, Comrade Nwabueze Success Onyekachi, the secretary of the Committee, stated that Mrs. Okugo Nwadiuto Mabel was also cleared to vie for the position of Treasurer.

March 15, 2024, is the scheduled date of the 2024 Abia Online Media Publishers General election.
