President Bola Tinubu has received commendation from the advocacy group Grassroots Engagement for Good Governance for his timely and proactive approach to tackling Nigeria’s security concerns. In an interview in Akure, the group’s convener, Adeola Iwakun, expressed appreciation and emphasised Tinubu’s dedication to national development.
Iwakun outlined Tinubu’s programmes, praising in particular his commitment to the welfare of Nigerians and his battle against corruption. The organisation praised the president for his prompt action in addressing recent security concerns, noting as a positive development his capacity to arrange security talks with leaders of several agencies.
In addition to security measures, Iwakun urged the federal government to implement compulsory vocational training for Nigerian youths as a means to deter them from engaging in criminal activities. He proposed integrating vocational education into the country’s education system, suggesting that all Nigerians should acquire vocational skills before proceeding to tertiary institutions.
Emphasizing the economic benefits, Iwakun stated that a skilled workforce would contribute to GDP growth and overall national prosperity. The convener urged stakeholders to view governance as a collective responsibility, expressing the group’s readiness to support Tinubu in transforming the country.
Iwakun highlighted the significance of cooperation among interested parties, thinking that this would result in a more safe, affluent, and socially just country. He urged the government at all levels to take immediate action by putting jobs and useful empowerment programmes into place for young people who are unemployed.
The Grassroots Engagement for Good Governance views President Tinubu’s proactive approach to security as a step in the right direction towards accomplishing its mission to actively participate in the nation’s transformation by supporting initiatives that tackle urgent concerns.
