At a town hall gathering in Ikeja, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu vowed to accomplish twice as much in his second term. He made a vow to expedite development and promised to deliver twice as many projects and programmes as he had during his first term.
Identifying this as a “season of doubling,” Governor Sanwo-Olu explained that the administration’s efforts to advance Lagos State would still be guided by the T.H.E.M.E.S+ development plan. He outlined the more than thirty road projects that are now under construction in the Lagos West senatorial constituency.
Infrastructure development has been a priority, completing over 70km of new roads and two kilometers of bridges in the past four years. Notable achievements include the Pen-Cinema Bridge, Ikeja Flyover, and 42 completed roads in various districts.
The governor underscored the significance of intracity railway development, particularly in the Lagos West senatorial district, serving as a major hub for Blue Line and Red Line trains. Additionally, he mentioned the advanced stage of construction of a new general hospital in the Ojo axis, which aims to enhance healthcare access in the district upon completion.
Governor Sanwo-Olu addressed security worries by announcing plans to deploy 300 patrol cars and work devices, enhancing the ability of security authorities to react to new threats. He urged the populace to back government initiatives aimed at upholding law and order and ensuring justice and fairness in the application of the law.
To sum up, the second term of Governor Sanwo-Olu is centred around an ambitious goal that involves tripling development efforts. Lagos State inhabitants’ overall well-being is the administration’s top priority, with particular emphasis on infrastructure, healthcare, and security.
