For the advancement of the Ebira Kingdom and Kogi as a whole, Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has urged Ahmed Anaje, the recently appointed Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, to place a high priority on harmony and peaceful coexistence. Bello highlighted this when he gave the king the staff of office during the vibrant coronation ceremony at the Ohinoyi Central Palace in Okene.
After Ado Ibrahim passed away on October 29, 2023, at the age of 94, Mr. Anaje was appointed. Governor Bello pledged to uphold Kogi’s traditional institutions in order to promote harmony and peaceful cohabitation among locals.
During the presentation of the staff of office, Bello assured traditional rulers of continuous support from the incoming administration of Governor-elect Alhaji Usman Ododo. He urged the sons and daughters of Ebiraland to unite and rally around the new Ohinoyi for the greatness, development, and security of the region.
Highlighting the importance of unity for meaningful growth and development, Governor Bello commended the 70 contestants for the Ohinoyi stool, acknowledging their spirit of sportsmanship. He emphasized the need for Ebiraland residents to prioritize harmony and actively contribute to ensuring safety within the kingdom for developmental purposes.
In return, Ohinoyi Ahmed Anaje promised to preserve Ebiraland’s cultural legacy and endeavour to promote harmony, peace, and security. The king declared his dedication to the welfare and advancement of the subjects of his rule.
The inauguration of the new Ohinoyi and Governor Bello’s call for unity mark a turning point for Ebiraland and emphasise the value of traditional leadership in fostering the general growth and prosperity of the area.
