Bola Tinubu has greenlit the appointment of a fresh board and management team for both the National Hajj Commission and the Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Commission. The announcement, disclosed by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, in Abuja, awaits Senate confirmation.
The National Hajj Commission (NAHCOM) will be led by Chairman Mr Jalal Arab, with key roles assigned to Aliu Abdulrazaq, Prince Anofi Elegushi, and Prof. Abubakar A. Yagawal. The NAHCOM zonal representatives include Dr Muhammad Umaru Ndagi, Abba Jato Kala, Sheikh Muhammad Bin Othman, Tajudeen Oladejo Abefe, Aishat Obi Ahmed, Zainab Musa, Prof. Musa Inuwa Fodio, and Prof. Adedimeji Mahfouz Adebola.
Simultaneously, the Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Commission welcomes Col. Aloche Adole as Chairman, alongside Dr Stephen Adegbite as Secretary. Board members include Omowumi Olubunmi Ogunlola, Clement Alobu Nweke, Chief Prince Weli Wosu, Prof. Joseph Haruna Mamman, Dr Toma Hamidu Ragnjiya, Dr Simon Abu Samson Dolly, and Bishop Raphael Benjamin Nwankwo from the Christian Association of Nigeria.
In urging the appointees to view their roles as an opportunity to serve the nation, the President emphasizes the importance of commitment to the significant purpose ahead. Pending Senate confirmation, these appointments mark a strategic move to ensure effective leadership in the National Hajj and Christian Pilgrims Commissions, aligning with a commitment to national service and purpose.
