She expressed the government’s determination to protect businesses within the country while working towards the eight-point agenda outlined by President Tinubu.
The purpose of the minister’s visit to Kano was to assess the state of industrialization and gather data on challenges requiring urgent attention for the revival of industrial development. She affirmed the ministry’s commitment to boosting the export of value-added products to explore comparative advantages.
In response, Governor Abba Yusuf, represented by his chief of staff, Shehu Sagagi, reiterated the state’s commitment to enhancing small-scale industries. He positioned Kano as a vital commercial hub in sub-Saharan Africa and appealed for increased federal government support to bolster commercial activities in the state.
The state Commissioner for Commerce, Abbas Sani-Abbas, highlighted efforts to redesign the state’s commercial policy, gathering essential commercial data for this purpose.
The federal government’s renewed commitment comes as part of broader efforts to stimulate economic growth, foster job creation, and mitigate poverty. As the government works towards these goals, collaboration with state authorities and a strategic approach to business support remain pivotal in achieving sustained economic revitalization.
