A truck transporting a forty-foot container collided with the Asaba Motor Park along Oguta Road by Upper Iweka in Onitsha, Anambra State, injuring four people.
On Saturday, the event occurred at approximately 11:15 a.m.
The truck driver was heading towards the River Niger Bridge when the brakes failed, according to witnesses at the parking lot.
The car drove off the road and slammed into the motor park, according to the sources, when the driver was trying to control the brake failure.
It was said that the truck struck more than ten cars, including tricycles, commercial buses, and a Toyota Sienna, before slamming into the parking lot wall.
“We were fortunate that the accident did not claim any lives,” the eyewitnesses stated. With all of the people at the park waiting to get into cars, this would have been a major disaster.
While other drivers were able to move through the remaining section of the road, the smashed vehicles created gridlock on the always busy Oguta Road.
