The leadership of United Abia Artists and Patriots (UAAP), under the board chairmanship of High Chief Raymond Nkemdirim, has congratulated Honorable Ibe Okwara Osonwa, the member representing the good people of Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency, on his well-deserved victory at the Court of Appeal, describing it as a victory for democracy and justice.

Recall that the Court of Appeal in Lagos overturned the decision of the National Assembly Election Tribunal in Umuahia that declared Daniel Okeke of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner, thereby upholding the choice of the people of Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency at the ballot.

In the press release that was signed by the UAAP Convener Amb. Dr. Osita Offor “Ultimate Commander”, and forwarded to OHAFIATV News, the association revealed that the onus lies on the judiciary to continue to protect democracy, saying that they have demonstrated courage and determination in face of undue pressure.
Ibe Okwara won his election fair and square. It was undemocratic to try to snatch it from him.

In a similar vein, UAAP has commended the Governor of Abia State on his giant strides on the rapid development of the state within a short period of the new administration. UAAP called on all patriotic Abians to send a message of appreciation to His Excellency, Dr. Alex C. Otti OFR, for his careful consideration of the 24 Permanent Secretaries and the 17 Local Government Mayors/Chairmen. He has continued to show capacity and strong leadership dexterity in his application of developmental strides, promising that the reputable body will continue to give him full support to deliver good governance to Ndi Abia….
