Former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, has accused popular Islamic Scholar, Ahmad Gumi of trying to ignite religious and ethnic war in Nigeria.
To this end, Fani-Kayode said he should be cautioned against such move to destroy Nigeria.
Recall that the cleric had said Nigeria can’t afford to entrust the responsibility of securing the country to Christians.
He made the remark in a sermon where he noted that President Bola Tinubu couldn’t remain in power for a second tenure if he failed to meet specific demands.
His remarks were made following a meeting between Israeli envoy and Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike in Abuja.
Wike spoke with guests about the security situation in Abuja.
Feeling betrayed by the meeting, Gumi demanded Wike’s dismissal, emphasizing his intention to turn Abuja into Tel Aviv.
Fani-Kayode responded by urging the federal government to warn Gumi about his comments.
The call was made by the leader of the All Progressives Congress, or APC, in a two-and-a-half-page piece that was published on Sunday.
“Regardless of your opinion of him, one thing is certain: Gumi is attempting to start a religious and ethnic conflict in Nigeria, and someone needs to call him to order before it’s too late,” the piece states in part.
