Two people have been kidnapped by suspected gunmen in the Gumau neighborhood of the Toro Local Government Area of Bauchi State.
Before stealing the victims away in the early hours of Saturday, the gunmen allegedly fired warning shots into the air to frighten the locals.
In response to the occurrence, Hon. Dabo Ismail Haruna, who represents the Toro Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, denounced the most recent kidnapping.
After a break, he claimed the bandits had returned to terrorize villages by kidnapping people repeatedly for ransom.
However, he promised his constituents that legislative action would be taken to put an end to the regrettable occurrences, noting that the wave of kidnappings in the Toro Federal constituency had caused the state to express grave worry.
Sen. Bala Mohammed, the governor of the state, and the federal government were urged by Haruna to urgently order the dispatch of more security agencies to the local government to apprehend offenders.
Before publishing this story, I left messages and made calls to Ahmed Wakili, the state police command’s spokesman, asking him to confirm the occurrence.
