He said the aircraft left Zungeru Primary School on its way to Kaduna but was later found to have crashed in a village in Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger.
According to what was written, a Nigerian Air Force MI-171 helicopter that was carrying out a mission to evacuate casualties crashed today, August 14, 2023, at around 1:00 pm in Chukuba Village, Niger State.
The plane was eventually found to have crashed in the Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State not far from Chukuba Village after leaving Zungeru Primary School bound for Kaduna.
To save the pilots and passengers on board, according to Gabkwet, attempts are still being made.
Preliminary investigations have started to identify the likely cause of the tragedy, and efforts to save the crew and passengers of the helicopter are still ongoing, according to the statement.
