As the world marks the 2023 Children’s Day celebration, Abia’s greatest benefactor in education, Bishop Dr Emeka Nwankpa, has saluted Abia children’s exploits, and has tasked the incoming administration in Abia State on increased funding for education.
The revered cleric and philanthropist, who has invested heavily in the education of Nigerian children, regrets the total neglect of the educational sector in Abia State by the outgoing administration, a situation he described as ‘an anomaly that should not be allowed to continue.’
In a chat with newsmen, the governorship candidate of the Accord Party in the March 18 governorship election, said, ‘I salute Abia children’s exploits on this year’s Children’s Day celebration, and charge the incoming administration on Increased funding for education. A situation where the educational sector has been neglected in Abia State is totally unacceptable. It is an anomaly that should not be allowed to continue.’
It is on record that Bishop Emeka Nwankpa is Abia’s greatest benefactor in education, solely funding the education of 108 children in primary schools, 48 in secondary schools, and 77 in various universities in Nigeria and overseas.
