According to posts shared on his wall by one of his media aides, Ahamefula Aki, the gesture is to boost the morale of the beneficiaries. The post, seen by OHAFIATV News reads:

The DG Grassroot Development Initiative (GDI) Southeast and former PDP House of Representative Aspirant, Chief. Dr. Sam Anya – Akaekpochionwa today took another bold step towards boosting the moral of his supporters by donating three cars to three of his supporters.
It is Easter to remember for Comr. Kalu Ojike Igwe, a native of Nkwebi Community, Mr. Chika Nnate a native of Elu Community and Mr. Agwu Kalu Uduka, a native of Elu Community in Ohafia local government area as the were handed over their car keys by #Chief. Dr. Sam Anya (Akaekpuchionwa)
The Easter Gift of a new Car’s by Chief. Dr. Sam Anya (Akaekpuchionwa) to the Ohafia Youths is in continuation of his direct empowerment program that has seen Youth’s in Ohafia and Arochukwu receive free vehicles and cash to support them in their businesses and as a way of ameliorating the danger posed by unemployment in the country.
Speaking while presenting the Car Key’s to the Beneficiaries, Dr. Sam Anya noted that his closeness to the youths in Ohafia which started a long time ago before his venture into Politics has increased judging by the constant show of love and support from the youths.
He assured other youths who are yet to benefit from his direct empowerment program to be patient as he is determined to meaningfully impact on the youths soon.
He also used the opportunity to donated hundreds of thousands of naira to the youths as Easter gift while wishing them a Happy Easter Celebration.
