The Abia State Governorship Candidate of NNPP, Dr Ukpai Iro Ukpai, today sent his congratulations to the Abia State Governorship Candidate of the Labour Party, Dr Alex Otti, on his victory at the just concluded Abia State Governorship election 2023.

In a statement signed by himself, Dr Ukpai wrote, “Congratulations Your Excellency Dr Alex Otti on your victory at the Governorship polls! You have fought a good fight and shown resilience. Well done my brother! Abia State as you know is bleeding, our people have been suffering, so it’s time to get to serious work to rescue, bind wounds, and restore hope. Most importantly, please look out for the weakest amongst hurting Abians. Please stop in the Name of God the stated 10 to 15 deaths per month of our Pensioners. I hope and pray that Abians weep no more as Alex is come! I trust you know what to do. I advise you and your team to first go to God of God’s own State for guidance as you start out.”

Addressing Abians in the message, the man known by the sobriquet ‘Ebube Abia’, who ran his campaign on the slogan “Technology takes over from 2023”, praised Abians for ‘conducting themselves peacefully during the elections and it’s tempting aftermath’, thanking them for their votes and support for his campaign and urged them to realize that the work of rebuilding Abia State has just started, admonishing that every Abian needs to commit to supporting the Governor-elect – Dr Alex Otti – to move Abia State swiftly forward.
