…calls on Abia Stakeholders, and PDP family to show brotherhood to Ikonne
A youth pressure group under the auspices of Abia North Youth Agenda (ANYA), has made case for the need for Abia Stakeholders and the PDP family to, as a matter of necessity, root for a man from Isiala Ngwa North like the Late Prof Eleazar Uche Ikonne, the former Peoples Democratic Party flag bearer for the 2023 gubernatorial election who passed on recently after a brief illness.
The group, through their National Coordinator, Hon. Udoeze Agwu Kalu insisted that the death of Uche Ikonne is a strong message that the hand of God is upon the affair of Abia State, and like the death of Christ who paid the ultimate sacrifice for humanity, Ikonne’s demise must be viewed from the prism of its spiritual connotation, not just from a political point of view. He his death has shown that only through sacrifice that the resuscitation of Abia state is guaranteed.
“It will be fair play and a great show of brotherhood that the entire Abia State should consider picking another man from Isiala Ngwa North of the Abia Central Zone to replace and support him to emerge as Abia state governor to placate the death of the erudite scholar.
“We are by this message appealing to politicians from Abia North Zone to as a matter of principle shed their ambition for 2023. We are all brothers.
“In our desire for a better Abia, we strongly endorse and beg the PDP family to pick a trusted man like the current Chief of State Staff to the executive governor of Abia state, Chief Okey Ahiwe as the most fitting man to manage the affairs of Abia state at a critical time like this.
“He is a fine gentleman that understands the challenges facing the state, we believe he has all it takes to address these problems. He is also youth friendly, pragmatic, and a realist who will carry Abians along and through to a better future and progress for the state”.
The group stated their resolve to give hundred percent support to Okey Ahiwe because they believe he is a good man that will not discriminate against any part of Abia state in his drive for greater development and peace of the State.
