What a walking disaster with a strange-sounding melody of frustration, in a state adjudged to be the 12th richest state among the Nigerian federating states! Why would a state blessed and punctuated with revered intellectuals and astute professional juggernauts be basking in the euphoria of exchanges of ignorance?

For barely 24 years, no government in Abia State has ever produced a new general framework of economic thought. It is totally inconceivable and it distorts the technology of reasoning how a state rich in both human and material resources is dying by instalment. Our state governance system has so reduced us to such a nadir that today, we would rather choose to be miserable than to be uncomfortable in a state where all of us are assumed to have equal stake. The situation in our state today can be likened to a scenario where the lunatics take over the Asylum, and the Asylum managers now become inmates of the lunatics.

The behemoth called Abia has been so structured that the people, out of frustration and acute deprivation, now celebrate a governance system that promotes audacity of hypocrisy , hypocrisy of competence and mere demonstration of a deft political chicanery.

Abia career politicians, please Pity Ndi Abia. We voted you into power. Our tax money is used to pay for all the welfare you and your cronies enjoy in that office; you loot our state dry; you destroy our educational system, send your children to private schools in Nigeria and schools abroad; you owe our parents (Civil Servants) miserable years of salary arrears; you owe our grandparents years of pension allowances; and turn around again to us, asking us to support and vote for the continuity of your knavery and machinations. Haba! What a monumental wickedness in the superlative degree!

Ndi Abia, it’s about time we created or increased our brand awareness, in order to delight our children and generations yet unborn. We really need to reinforce an austere sense of resilience in order to return the state to the people in 2023. Our greatest scarcity in Abia State is not a lack of resources, but the absence of political courage and moral imagination. We should not preserve a system that has denied us and our children the basic necessities. And for those of you who are supporting the continuum of this broken system, please have a rethink. Do not support evil, even if it’s working for you today; as the evil that works for you today, will definitely work against you tomorrow.

While we ought not to hold on to the past but must move forward, the lessons of the past should not be dispatched to the dustbins of history, but utilized positively to navigate the present and future.

The behemoth called Abia is bleeding. Doctors and other medics in the house, is there any injection to be administered on our dear state to dislodge this walking disaster and truncate its continuum in 2023?
