The family of Mr Akinluyi Oladipupo has been thrown into mourning as he was kidnapped and eventually killed by his abductors.

The victim, an automobile spare parts dealer, was said to have been abducted last week by a gang of armed men who invaded his residence in Giwa, Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

Sources revealed that the family of Akinluyi, who hails from Akure, Akure South Local Government Area of Ondo State, was contacted by his abductors two days after he was kidnapped and they asked for N15 million ransom for his release.

It was revealed that the family was only able to raise N8 million and the kidnappers arranged with them where to drop the ransom.

The abductors were said to have agreed to release the 69-year-old victim if the family could bring the N8 million since they could not raise the N15 million initially demanded.

However, the incident turned sour as the family could not see the victim after paying the ransom only to discover that he had been killed by his abductors.

It was gathered that the family said the abductors only allowed the victim to speak with his only son, Akinluyi Opeyemi, on the first day they contacted them and demanded ransom.

The family was said to have been consoling the wife, Taibat, and his children, Abiola, Opeyemi and Bidemi.

The state Police Command disclosed that men of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit are already on the trail of the perpetrators, assuring that they would be arrested and made to face the wrath of the law.
