After hours of worrisom silence over a scandalous publication accusing Director Emma Eyaba, a Frontline Abuja filmmaker and Chairman, Directors’ Guild of Nigeria, Abuja Chapter, which was published by an online tabloid over alleged marriage scandal involving a baby mama of over 20 years, the filmmaker has reacted with a press statement issued on Wednesday in Abuja.

According to the content of the statement, the filmmaker fondly called Dir. Emma Eyaba debunked the narrative put out by Ohafiatv News that he has a twin from an extra-marital affair from a side chick ‘baby mama’.

The statement read, interalias:

“Few days ago, my attention was brought to an online publication from Ohafiatv, a blog run by a guy I know personally and could call a son because he was in one of my talent hunt program called “Unleash Ur Creativity Season 3”, he was mentored by my humble self and helped to get some juicy contracts on media through my contacts in Abuja as far back as 2018.

“I was therefore shocked when I began to recieve calls that same Comr Amos Kalu who happens to be the publisher of the online platform (ohafiatv.com) is the same person that could quickly put out some negative news about me out there without bothering to verify from me as a friend. Initially I decided to treat it with utter silence to let it slide, but when I began to get incessant calls from friends, family and well wishers, especially considering the negative trauma such publication will be bringing to my wife and kids, I decided to address it.

“I also remembered roles the Blog played in broadcast our UU3 program and thought to myself that if truly they carried such news, then it must have gone far and wide.

“For avoidance of doubt, I was truly in Anambra State throughout this festive period, but for reasons quite different from what was alleged in the publication and my wife was fully aware of my movement. Therefore I am short of words as to why some people will believe that I was in Anambra with another woman, even going further to claim that the “so called baby mama” has twins for me. This is very preposterous and unacceptable.

“Many efforts to bring them around to debunking what they wrote fell on deaf ears and the 24hours given to them by my legal team to pull down the publication and apologize has not been complied with. I am therefore pushed to take the option of legal action against the platform and the publisher for character defirmation and peddling of false information about my person that is capable of breaking my home.

“I have instructed my legal team to take all neccessary action as I will be suing Ohafiatv and Comr Amos Kalu to the tune of N10,000,000 (Ten Million Naira) to prove beyond doubt that what they wrote and published about me is not true as they have continued to claim that their investigation has proves. Let them bring the prove to the court.

“I have an obligation to protect my marriage, my kids and my reputation and I will not sacrifice it on alter of friendship. They should prepare for invitation from the police and legal action for putting out unverified news against my person” he said.

Meanwhile, Comr Amos Kalu, while reacting to this decision of Dir. Emma Eyaba, insisted that their information was from a reliable source with evidence, and maintained that they will neither pull down the publication nor apologize to the Eyabas over what he believe to be true.

What everyone keep wondering is what could’ve made Director Emma Eyaba and his once upon a time student to fall out to such extent.

But it is clear that the drama is far from over.
