In the words of legendary poet, Williams Shakespeare, “Be not afraid of greatness. Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and others have greatness thrust upon them.” Looking at the life of Dr. Emeka Kalu, one can easily concur with the literary icon that some people are born into power; others work for it; still, others are forced to accept it.

Kalu’s years on earth can also be compared to the sun; when the sun rises, it does so with that dazzling majesty that only its sunness can account for; its beauty adores all eyes and its warmth crawls beneath every skin, shielding them from the malice of the harmattan.

In this our time and era where majority of the elites are silent on the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari, Dr Kalu has remained a vocal opposition voice; demonstrating his belief in good governance and the tenets of democracy. His voice is so firm when making a case for the common man in the north, west and east.

There is no vision so clear and focused to develop, advance and sustain the daily endeavours of every Nigerian like his own.

Boss, you have never reneged in your willingness and ability to reciprocate the goodness of God in your life to the poor and his vineyards. At the slightest opportunity availed to do so, you always protect the poor masses and stand by them through thick and thin.
The above have not come without a price. You have laid so much on the line to fight and protect the present and future generation of Nigerians.

As you deservedly celebrate this glorious day, it is my prayer that the Almighty God, who has richly prospered you and ordered your every step this past years, will continue to bless you with good health and fulfillment in the many more years of worthy service ahead of you.
