Press Statement – 27/9/2019
One of the most vocal PDP Chieftain and DG Atikulated Agenda Worldwide has continued to lend his voice to what he believes should be the right thing to do for continued well-being of Nigeria, especially on the aspect of adjudication of justice by the Nigeria Judiciary so that the common man will not be consumed in crossfire of prejudice occasioned by misconstrued judgments.
According to Chief Emeka Kalu, any nation without a reputable judicial system is doomed to fall into abyss of anarchy because the Judiciary remains the scale for which control in maintained between power and abuse and until that balance is put in check, it will be difficult to boast of freedom because justice will become a commodity for the highest bidder.
Dr. Kalu was reacting to the continued skepticism surrounding the last judgment of the Appeal Court over the PEPT of PDP/Atiku challenging APC/Buhari in the last February, 2019 Presidential Elections, in a statement signed by his media and publicity aide, comr. Amos Kalu, where he decried the broadday attack on the collective intelligence of Nigerians by delivering a judgment that even the blind were able to see the error. A subversion he insisted that is a matter that need urgent correction to steer the cause of our progressive democracy.
“I have said it for the umpteenth time that we must not lose hope in the ability of our Supreme court to restore the confidence of the common man in Nigeria, I am still very certain that they will not dash our hopes at the end of the day.
“It is too early to assume the worst. The Supreme Court is made up of more ebullient and well respectable men of the legal profession whose main interest is to uphold the integrity of an independent Judiciary in lieu of the charade we so witnessed at the Appeal Court. We must always count on their indefatigability”, he encouraged.
Dr. Kalu, who is also the director of Global Initiative for Good Governance, insisted that this is the time Nigerians need to be strong in their resolve for true change that is close at hand because it is only our collective efforts that can get Nigeria working again.
“Like Alhaji Atiku has always called on all his supporters to remain calm, mature and patient as they have continued to show. I am calling on Nigerians, irrespective of religious believes, tribes, political inclination and affiliate to unit and win together for history to be kind to us.
“Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is paying the ultimate price of fighting against skewed precedence set by this administration and he believes in the Judicial system and her ability to give succor to Nigerians whose mandate was robbed in broad daylight. I am also confident that they would not dash our hopes” he said.
